Launching the Academic Year 2009-2010

For the purpose of preparing the beginning of the school year after the long vacations, the teaching corps was convoked to an assembly meeting on Friday, 11 september at 8 : 30. In the course of the day, the activities were distributed over three periods of time. 1st period : The divine service was celbrated for the sake of the teaching corps and the students. During the service and after the Bible, the group »Signum Fidei » of the college renewed before the altar their commitment for one year. 2nd period : After the coffee-break, two orators spoke successively. At first, Brother Georges Absi, visitor, stressed on the role of the Lasallian Educator in the formation of the student’s human personality through the acceptance of others, the tolerance, and the service rendered to the most unprovided people and to the society. Then, Mr Salim Gereige, the principal, recalled the steps that the project of the institution had passed through, the actions that had been undertaken and what had remaind to be accomplished later. Finally, he announced the work to be done in the third period of time. 3rd period : After collation, the teachers were divided first into mixed groups and then in groups by cycles in order to evaluate the Lasallian Educator’s Charge Booklet. Observations from different groups were mentioned before the Assembly and a written report was submitted by each group to the Principal to be later presented to the CPLL. The session ended at 13 :30.
