Meeting of the titulars (september 2009)

On sept. 12, 2009 all titulars of the school met with the principal Mr GEREIGE, Mrs Manna’a and Brother Ildefonse Sarkis in order to launch the academic year 2009-2010. The session started with a speech made by Mr Gereige who stressed on the importance of the titulars’ role in accompanying the students and in being mediators between the students and the voice and the teaching of Christ and of St Jean Baptiste de La Salle.

The principal has also emphasized the importance of the morning meditation sessions and has pointed out that most schools have started taking up this system lately under the name « Life hour ».

Then, Mrs Manna’a, with reference to all her Lasallian undertaken sessions and to her own experience, clarified the role of the Titular towards the students, their parents and towards the Administration and gave some practical recommendations.

Finally, she presented a Morning Meditation Book prepared by the Signum Fidei in summer and that could help facilitate the task of the titular.

Brother Ildefonse congratulated the titulars for their devotion and active presence with the students, those showing a specific need in particular. He also reminded the audience of the effect that a titular can have on the students, hence the necessity of vigilance.

Finally, every group of titulars met with their responsible in their specific cycle to complete the task and the preparations needed for the beginning of the school term.
